McDonald’s Monopoly Fortunes

Capturing the nostalgic gameplay of Monopoly on the mobile

McDonald’s Monopoly has been a massive success for years – find the peel-to-reveal stickers in the restaurant, collect the set and win great prizes. A simple instant win mechanic needed updating to work in the modern, mobile world.

We were asked by McDonald’s lead agency The Marketing Store to design and build an m-site so diners could play a new instant-win game from their restaurant seats. A winner’s heat map showed who was winning where – and brought an immediacy and excitement to the game.

This mobile site ran during the 2013 campaign and was designed whilst employed as Interaction Art Director at Sponge Group.
